Got some links here.

It’s a Monday, which means we’ve got some links for your perusal.

The Barkevious Mingo situation

This is awful. It’s awful to think about and awful to write about — so I’ll preface this section with that context.

On Saturday, Atlanta Falcons free agent signee Barkevious Mingo bonded out of a Tarrant County, Texas jail on one charge of Indecency with a Child — Sexual Contact. His contract was promptly terminated by the team, which clearly creates some immediate personnel and cap space issues.

Awful.

Training camp on deck

The Falcons finally released their training camp schedule for the upcoming season, which officially gets underway July 31st in Flowery Branch. Of course, The Falcoholic has you covered on all-things-camp, and you can read our primer right here.

Best case, worst case

The Falcons are perpetually confounding and infuriating. This we know is true. They’ve installed a new regime to helm the franchise for the foreseeable future, but what does that mean in its immediacy? Pro Football Focus sees the Falcons with double-digit wins in a best-case scenario for 2021 — the worst case seems more in line with what we’ve experienced of late.

Rebuild? Nope

“Rebuild” is not in general manager Terry Fontenot’s vocabulary, if you take him at his word on The Athletic Football Show’s latest podcast. Fontenot elaborated on the cap space he inherited from the previous regime, and what it means for Atlanta moving forward.

Over/Under: WR Russell Gage

Russell Gage has suddenly found himself as the Falcons’ WR3, and while he’s shown a penchant for acrobatic catches to move the chains: Does his season line end up over or under 930 receiving yards?

Forgotten Falcons

Who forgot quarterback-turned-head-coach June Jones? Apparently, ya’ll did.
