We look ahead to Week 2 as the newest depth chart has been released.

The 2021 NFL season is technically underway, as we steamroll into Week 2 of preseason action. The week before, we were unfortunately tasked with watching the Atlanta Falcons’ offense struggle heavily against the visiting Tennessee Titans in a 23-3 loss.

In week two, the Falcons are heading south to face the Miami Dolphins, as they seem to play each other every preseason. With that, the team has revealed the latest, most up-to-date depth chart for the upcoming matchup. It’s worth noting that preseason depth charts shouldn’t be taken too seriously, as rookies are listed lower than they are likely to be when the season opens and much will change in the next couple of weeks.

If you’re looking for changes, as mentioned in the title, you’re not going to find a whole lot. The team parted ways with WR J’Mon Moore, RG Bryce Hargrove, DL John Atkins, OLB George Obinna and CB/S Marcus Murphy following last week’s game. Aside from those names being removed, the depth chart remains the same.

There were some standouts against the Titans, who no doubt fans will be looking forward to seeing more of such as linebackers Dorian Etheridge and Erroll Thompson, and running back Caleb Huntley. On the flip side, there’s some players who have an opportunity to bounce back from not-so-great performances such as left guard Josh Andrews and quarterback A.J. McCarron, to name a couple. Chances are the only changes to the depth chart ahead of Week 3 of preseason will be new signings and cuts again, no matter what happens.

We’ll see if the Falcons bounce back on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. as they’re hosted by the Dolphins.
