Week 2 is over, these are the players who might be available in your fantasy leagues on the waiver wire

This had to be one of the oddest fantasy football weekends in a very long time. Only 11 non-quarterback players managed to crack 20 points in half point per reception leagues. The quarterbacks this week simply threw the ball to odd players, leading to some scores from deeper plays that hardly no one would start outside of a 14+ team league. A whopping 20 quarterbacks scored 15 or more points in week two. Only around 20 must-start players scored 15 or more fantasy points out of the 55 total players to hit this mark. Yes, guys like Henry Ruggs had a good day but how many people played him instead of a guy like Robert Woods. With several of these role-players taking steps forward this week, let’s analyze the waiver wire pickups after week two of the fantasy football regular season.

Rondale Moore, Wide Receiver, Arizona Cardinals

Rostered percentage: ESPN(19%), Yahoo(34%)

Another week, another Cardinals receiver breaks out. This week it was Rondale Moore’s turn to have a big game. Moore put up 114 yards on seven catches with a touchdown. This could get frustrating for some owners going forward though. The Cardinals have several weapons at receiver so it will be difficult to trust any of them every week outside of Deandre Hopkins. Fantasy owners need to have playmakers stashed though, so target Moore in waivers this week.

Cordarrelle Patterson, Running Back(?), Atlanta Falcons

Rostered percentage: ESPN(8%), Yahoo(15%)

The Atlanta Falcons offense showed signs of life against the Buccaneers on Sunday. The team got a spark from Cordarrelle Patterson all over the field. Patterson had seven carries and five receptions. This totaled 69 yards and Patterson also scored a touchdown, good for 21.4 fantasy points in week two. Patterson might not be a great option for fantasy owners, but he looked better than Mike Davis against the Super Bowl champions.

J.D. McKissic is going to be a risky play going forward but might be worth a stash

J.D. McKissic, Running Back, Washington Football Team

Rostered percentage: ESPN(42%), Yahoo(29%)

Be warned on this addition. J.D. McKissic had a good game in the Thursday night NFL opener; however, this could have been a product of the short week. Antonio Gibson was still on the field the most for the Football Team. McKissic was effective in the pass game though. He is worth a stash, especially in PPR formats. It could be possible that this was a one-time game though due to the short week. Target McKissic if your bench has the room, but be cautious going forward with starting him.

Tony Pollard, Running Back, Dallas Cowboys

Rostered percentage: ESPN(39%), Yahoo(53%)

This one goes out to all of the Ezekiel Elliot owners. Tony Pollard is going to keep being a problem for your first round draft pick. Elliot had a good game against the Chargers in week two mostly thanks to a touchdown. Meanwhile, Pollard rushed for over 100 yards and added another 31 on catches. Pollard also looked like the more explosive rusher of the two all day. Ezekiel Elliot owners need to do whatever it takes to handcuff with Pollard. Those needing a good upside flex should target Pollard as well. It appears that Pollard will be a big part of this prolific offense going forward.
