The Detroit Lions have been stumbling and need the core players to break the funk.

While the Detroit Lions are 2-1 over their past three games, there has not been a dominant performance in some time. The defense particularly has struggled, but against the Bears and Packers, the offense had plenty of its own issues as well. This is not the time of year to be on the decline, and it is certainly not the time in the season when fantasy managers want to feel uncertain.

The Lions have a chance to get back on track against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The Saints are near the middle of the league in both yards and points scored and allowed, and while Detroit is not a heavy favorite on paper, there is an opportunity here to recapture some of that early-season promise, even on the road.

Today’s Question of the Day is:

What Lions-Saints start/sit decisions are you making?

My answer: Coming off a frustrating loss, I expect the Lions to lean on their most reliable pieces this weekend. That starts with Amon-Ra St. Brown, who can help get Jared Goff back in rhythm. The run game remains the team’s identity, so look for David Montgomery to get plenty of looks as well. I like St. Brown as a WR1 and Montgomery as the running back more likely to break into the top 16 at the position.

The Saints really just have one weapon, and that is Chris Olave. The sophomore receiver is coming off three-straight double-digit performances and has a good shot at a WR1 week against this secondary. Alvin Kamara will get some attention, but I do not see him landing in the top 12.
