Favorite prop bets for Chargers vs Ravens

Shouldn’t Justin Herbert throwing for two touchdowns be easy money?

Oh boy… the Chargers are back for some primetime football, and their opponent is a real doozy. The Ravens are flying to Los Angeles as one of the most punishing offenses and defenses in the league, and in the third phase of the game they have one of the greatest kickers to play the game. Where are the weaknesses?!

In an effort to stay positive, all bets this week are “overs” for our Bolts, and I do think these all hit. We’re gonna need all the positive energy we can cook up. The following three bets are the favorites I could dig up on DraftKings Sportsbook.

OVER 1.5 Passing Touchdowns, Justin Herbert (+120)

How often do we get a positive payout just for Herbert to throw for two touchdowns? I get it – the receiving room is banged up. The offensive line has been suspect in pass protection. Is Will Clapp going to hold up, or did his injury last week affect him more than he’s let on this week?

Either way, in Herbert we trust. Jalen Guyton returning would be a big boost for him, as will Gerald Everett. I can’t think of many games where I’d think the chances of Herbert throwing for two touchdowns was worse than a coin flip.

OVER 33.5 Receiving Yards, Austin Ekeler (-110)

Austin Ekeler doesn’t typically stack two poor performances together. Dropping easy passes like he did last week is a rarity for Ekeler, and now he returns to his home turf against a team that excels against the blitz. Expect Herbert to check down to Austin frequently, and the one area where the Ravens are posting a EPA below league average is in the flats. Ekeler is well poised for a bounce-back game.

Alternate receiving yards +25, Donald Parham Jr (+175)

It’s redemption week, baby. Donald Parham Jr. had a very big drop last week, but he also pulled in four receptions for 57 yards. With Gerald Everett back, it’s equally important to point out that Stone Smartt had three targets last week that he turned into 51 yards and a touchdown.

Parham also gets targets that Everett doesn’t seem to get. Everett still seems to be a short-route YAC specialist in Moore’s scheme, and Parham is the big-bodied target Herbert often looks to if Allen is bracketed. This payout for a relatively low yardage count is very attractive.
