Former Dolphins and Jets pass rusher Jason Taylor is joining the University of Miami as an off-field analyst, per 247Sports’ Gaby Urrutia.

The NFL Hall of Famer will join Mario Cristobal’s staff after working as the defensive coordinator at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Taylor, 47, took that job in March 2020 after becoming the school’s defensive line coach in 2017.

Taylor’s name is one Miami fans know well, as he spent the first 11 years of his NFL career with the Dolphins from 1997-2007. Taylor spent the 2008 season with Washington before returning to Miami in 2009. He then suited up for the Jets in 2010 before rejoining the Dolphins for one final season in 2011.

Taylor, who recorded 139.5 sacks in his career, will always be best remembered for his time in Florida. However, he recorded five sacks for the Jets in 2010 and helped them reach the AFC Championship game.
