John Simon appeared in 47 games for New England, including playoffs.

Former New England Patriots outside linebacker John Simon agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, the organization announced.

Simon, 30, had been a free agent since the 2021 NFL year began in March.

Spending the previous three seasons with New England, Simon signed a $4.15 million extension in 2019. He appeared in 47 games and made 32 starts during his stay, including playoffs.

The Super Bowl LIII champion recorded 118 tackles and 8.5 sacks over that span to go with one forced fumble and one interception. And last campaign, Simon ranked fifth on the Patriots’ defense with 702 snaps played.

Simon has also been a member of the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts since entering the league in the fourth round of the 2013 draft. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Ohio State product will now reunite with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, a fellow Buckeye who served as his position coach while both were in Columbus and Houston.

Simon finished his collegiate career as Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and an Associated Press third-team All-American.
