Chris Hogan declared for the Premiere Lacrosse League entry draft in February.

Chris Hogan’s run as a midfielder in the Premier Lacrosse League is officially on hold.

The New Orleans Saints agreed to terms with the veteran wide receiver following a workout on Monday, according to a report from NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo.

Hogan, who declared for the 2021 PLL entry draft in February, had appeared in two games through stints with the Cannons and Whipsnakes. He was traded earlier this July.

The 33-year-old will now return to the league he entered as an undrafted free agent one decade ago. And with All-Pro target Michael Thomas working back from ankle surgery, the Saints mark the eighth NFL roster for Hogan. He has also been a member of the San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets and New England Patriots, with whom a pair of Super Bowls were won.

Hogan caught 141 passes for 2,193 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Patriots after arriving as a restricted free agent on a three-year, $12 million offer sheet in March 2016. He played in 49 games, including playoffs.

Once a first-team All-ECAC selection and captain for the Penn State lacrosse program, Hogan spent his final year of NCAA eligibility on the football field at Monmouth.
