Another old friend is getting another opportunity heading into the 2024 campaign.

Former Carolina Panthers guard Travelle Wharton has been hired as the Baltimore Ravens’ assistant offensive line coach. The 42-year-old was one of four additions officially announced by the organization on Monday afternoon.

A Greenville, S.C. native, Wharton was selected by the Panthers in the third round of the 2004 NFL draft. He’d go on to play all nine of his NFL seasons in Charlotte—starting in 111 of 115 games, mostly as a left guard, between 2004 and 2013.

Wharton began his coaching career in 2015, as an offensive quality control coach at his alma mater of the University of South Carolina. Three years later, the Panthers would come calling again—hiring the hog molly as their assistant offensive line coach for the 2018 and 2019 campaigns.

He’d then follow former Carolina head coach Ron Rivera to Washington, where he served as the Commanders’ assistant offensive line coach from 2020 to 2022 and their offensive line coach in 2023.
