The Houston Texans released their final injury report ahead of their matchup against the New York Giants in Week 10 with some key designations that could impact their chances of sneaking out of the Meadowlands with their second win of the season.

Among the players listed with injury were receivers Nico Collins and Brandin Cooks, who both missed last week’s Thursday night bout against the Philadelphia Eagles. They were listed as questionable for Sunday’s action along with defensive lineman Maliek Collins and linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin.

The lone Texan who was listed as out was linebacker Neville Hewitt, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury. The loss of Hewitt is less than ideal for Houston’s defense but should give rookie linebacker Christian Harris more opportunities to contribute in his fourth game of the 2022 campaign.

Rookie running back Dameon Pierce was a late addition to the report on Friday being listed with a chest and shoulder injury, though he was not given a specific designation. This should mean that he will be ready to play on Sunday, though an unforeseen setback could hypothetically change his status if the injury becomes aggravated on Saturday.

Others listed without designation were offensive lineman Justin McCray, defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson, and wide receiver Phillip Dorsett. All three were listed as full participants in practice and should be considered locks to make the gameday roster against New York.

Houston will need to put together an exceptional game plan to emerge victorious from this road matchup against a Giants team that has come into its own under first-year head coach Brian Daboll. They will rely on all of their playmakers to help put up a legitimate fight on Sunday, and will likely be heavy underdogs in the Week 10 matchup. While the odds may be stacked against them, with just one player definitively listed as out, they should be mostly-healthy for the effort.
