Pinnock was checked at Minneapolis hospital after late-game injury on Sunday

New York Giants safety Jason Pinnock is flying home with the team on Sunday night. Pinnock was taken to a local hospital in Minneapolis after being carted off the field late in Sunday’s 31-24 wild-card victory over the Minnesota Vikings with an abdomen injury.

He returned to the locker room in time to join the team’s post-game celebration. Pinnock said he was feeling much better.

Edge defender Azeez Ojulari was ruled out with a quad injury during the New York Giants’ wild card game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Ojulari was ruled out during the third quarter. He was limited in practice during the week with an ankle injury but did not appear on the final injury report.

Ojulari has struggled to stay healthy throughout the season. He hurt his ankle Week 17 against the Vikings and was on Injured Reserve earlier in the year with a calf injury. He played in only seven regular-season games.

Kayvon Thibodeaux went to the sidelines with an apparent injury midway through the third quarter with the Giants leading 24-21. He returned soon after with his hand taped up.

For at least part of the game, the Giants had their entire starting defensive line on the field — something that has been a rarity this season. But even with Xavier McKinney and Adoree’ Jackson back as well, the entire defense was unable to stay together for long.
