“The New York Giants got an absolute stud,” Kelce said of Brian Daboll’s new offensive coordinator. “You’re gonna be prepared. You’re never gonna feel like you don’t have an upper hand against the opponent, and that’s something you don’t get throughout the league with every offensive coordinator.

“The schemes are gonna be difficult for defenses to understand,” Kelce added, “and it’s gonna make the jobs for the guys on the field that much easier because of his hard work.”

Apple’s half-brother, Dane Blackson, says his younger sibling’s social media persona — which has taken aim at Giants and Saints fans of late — is a sign that he’s finally becoming comfortable after six whirlwind seasons in the NFL. Giants fans will remember reports that Apple once bolted from a meeting room amid criticism from coaches and teammates, fought with the coaching staff and refused to take the field when demoted to the scout team.

“It’s been a tricky road, but he’s started turning this adversity into an engine,” Blackson told NJ Advance Media. “And I like that because you can see he is a lot more talkative. People will say that about him, he’s a lot more expressive on the field.”
