C.J. Board, Chris Myarick elevated from practice squad for Thursday’s game

The New York Giants placed offensive guard Shane Lemieux on injured reserve and made official the previously reported signing of veteran center Matt Skura to the 53-man roster.

Lemieux suffered a partially torn patellar tendon in the first few days of training camp, and has been trying to play through it. He played 17 snaps Sunday against the Denver Broncos before being replaced by Ben Bredeson.

The 2020 fifth-round pick had started 10 straight games. He now has to miss at least three games before returning to the active roster.

Skura, a starter for the Baltimore Ravens the past four seasons, signed with the Giants practice squad on Sept. 2.

There has been no official announcement, but there is an expectation that center Nick Gates will move to left guard Thursday vs. Washington with Billy Price, acquired in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals, starting at center.

Practice squad elevations

The Giants are elevating wide receiver C.J. Board and tight end Chris Myarick to the active roster for Thursday night’s game. Board is the primary kickoff returner and could be a punt gunner with Cam Brown (hamstring) already ruled out. Myarick gives the Giants a third tight end with Evan Engram (calf) out.
