The jury is still out on Daniel Jones, but he is receiving some major help in the form of Kenny Golladay, John Ross, Kadarius Toney and the return of Saquon Barkley. Unfortunately, he’s going to have to work with an inconsistent offensive line. Let’s hope Andrew Thomas morphs into the franchise left tackle fans are hoping for. The Giants defense finished No. 12 in the league last year and they could potentially improve in 2021. Azeez Ojulari is a rookie who seems to have potential and Adoree’ Jackson was a welcomed addition to the secondary. The roster looks solid. Now, they just need to put it all together.

The Giants needed to upgrade Daniel Jones’ weapons, so they went out and got the best wide receiver available. Kenny Golladay arrives with some questions — injuries limited him to five games last season, and the Giants are paying him like an elite No. 1 receiver ($18 million per year). But a healthy Golladay averaged 67.5 catches, 1,126.5 yards and eight touchdowns in the 2018-19 seasons. No one will claim Golladay is overpaid if he produces like that in New York. The Giants are banking on the addition of Golladay helping Jones the way the Plaxico Burress signing in 2005 boosted Eli Manning early in his career. — Dan Duggan

7. Kyle Rudolph, TE, New York Giants
A 31-year-old Kyle Rudolph didn’t make a ton of noise when inking a two-year deal with the New York Giants, especially when compared to bigger names at his position, like Hunter Henry.
But Rudolph is a critical addition for a Giants team going all-in around developmental quarterback Daniel Jones. He’ll join a cast of weapons that includes fellow tight end Evan Engram, free-agent prize Kenny Golladay and 2021 first-round receiver Kadarius Toney.
Over 12 games last year, Rudolph had a quiet end to his decade-long stint in Minnesota, recording just 334 yards and one touchdown. But he had scored six or more times in three of the four seasons prior to that while ranking as the thirdish option in a mostly run-based attack.
This isn’t to suggest Rudolph will swing the pendulum much in the win column for the Giants. But there’s something bigger at stake for New York next season: guaranteeing a proper developmental curve for Jones that leads to reaching a high ceiling.
