The 0-1 New York Giants will try to avoid their eighth 0-2 start in nine seasons on Thursday night when they travel to Landover, Md. to face the Washington Football Team, which is also 0-1.

The Giants lost their season opener to the Denver Broncos, 27-13. The Football Team lost to the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-16.

Washington is the defending NFC East champion.

The Football Team announced Monday that starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will go on injured reserve with a hip sublexation. Taylor Heinecke will start at quarterback against the Giants.

Giants coach Joe Judge said on Monday that star running back Saquon Barkley is expected to play as he continues his comeback from a torn ACL.

The Giants are currently 3-point underdogs, per Draft Kings Sportsbook.
