Good or bad, Cowboys are putting all their eggs in one basket with Tyler Biadasz in 2021

Tyler Biadasz is currently going unchallenged to be Dallas’ starting center in 2021.
After a season in which the Dallas Cowboys saw their offensive line decimated by injuries, it’s a bit surprising adding more depth and competition to the front five hasn’t been more of a priority. That’s especially true at center where Tyler Biadasz looks to be the unquestioned, and unchallenged, starter entering Year 2.
As things stand right now there’s not a single player on the Cowboys roster who can seriously push Biadasz for the starting job at center in 2021. That’s not to say Biadasz isn’t the best person for the job or the most qualified, but it does mean Dallas is putting all of their eggs in one basket in the hopes he is, and can remain, “the guy”.
The Cowboys are putting a lot of faith in a player who just started four games as a rookie last season and never totally overtook Joe Looney, a career backup, for the starting job. Things could turn out great and he could end up becoming a longtime starter like Travis Frederick, but on the flipside it could easily turn disastrous as well.

Odds are Biadasz will step in to the starting role at center and be fine for the 2021 season and for many years to come. After all, he’s already receiving quite a bit of high praise with his play in offseason practices. But, having a solid Plan B in place would be a wise investment on the Dallas Cowboys part.
Heaven forbid, but if anything were to happen to No. 63 the Dallas Cowboys would be turning to either Connor McGovern or Matt Farniok to take over the way the roster is constructed right now. Neither player has played much at center in the pros or at the collegiate level. That doesn’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence they could step in if/when needed.
With training camp yet to get underway, the Cowboys have to be hoping someone will emerge to not only push Biadasz, but at the very least emerge as a capable backup. If not, they may want to reconsider bringing back Joe Looney for that role. That way they’re at least not putting all of their eggs in one basket.
