Baltimore Ravens’ running back Gus Edwards has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the first 10 days of the team’s training camp, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

The fourth-year running back out of Rutgers recently agreed to a two-year contract extension with Baltimore, who initially signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He’s expected to be a key piece of the Ravens offense this season alongside fellow running back J.K. Dobbins.

With all of the discourse surrounding players being heavily incentivized to get vaccinated against COVID, plus all of the issues Baltimore faced as a result of an outbreak in their locker room last Fall, this will assuredly be a story many people are keen to monitor. With the Ravens apparently at around 90% in terms of players’ vaccinated, it’s an unfortunate development for both the team and Edwards — who will now be starting the 2021 season behind the eight ball.
