The Jacksonville Jaguars made some roster transactions Friday by releasing linebacker Leon Jacobs and kicker Aldrick Rosas. They also signed veteran receiver Tevin Jones.

Jacobs, 25, was drafted by the Jags in 2018 in the seventh round out of Wisconsin. During his time with the Jags, they got a decent amount of play time out of the late-rounder as he started in 12 games and participated in 29. He will end his Jags tenure with 66 combined tackles, two sacks, and five tackles for loss. At the time he was released, Jacobs had been on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list for a week.

As for Rosas, it initially looked as though the Jags were willing to let him battle Josh Lambo for the team’s starting kicker role. However, Rosas went on the Active/Non-Football Injury list two days ago after sustaining an injury unrelated to football.

Lastly, Jones has been a journeyman making stops at Houston, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and Dallas as an NFL player. He played in just five games (all with Pittsburgh), and his last stop was with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He’ll enter his tenure with the Jags with four career catches for 61 yards.
