The Jacksonville Jaguars ranked as one of the top five teams in the NFL to play for in 2023, according to players.

In the annual NFL Players Association report card, every team is graded on subjects ranging from the food served at the facility to the training staffs and the locker rooms. Last year, the Jaguars finished 28th in the NFL and were lambasted for a number of issues that included a rat infestation. This year, Jacksonville ranked fifth behind only the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, and Philadelphia Eagles.

The massive jump for the Jaguars is due mostly to the opening of the Miller Electric Center, a new state-of-the-art practice facility adjacent to EverBank Stadium. The team’s locker room, training room, and weight room all ranked top six in the NFL by players. Jaguars owner Shad Khan earned an “A” grade for his willingness to invest on the team.

What kept the Jaguars from being even higher in the ranks was the “Treatment of Families” results where the team earned a grade of “D-.” Jacksonville is one of a dozen teams that doesn’t provide a family room and players weren’t impressed with the Jaguars’ childcare services.

The team started offering childcare this year, which is an improvement. However, some respondents feel like the offering needs to be improved. Players report that it is “unreliable” and isn’t worth bringing their kids to.

Still, the Jaguars’ massively improved work environment has clearly impressed the team’s players.
