Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jacob Harris is getting elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for a Week 4 game in London against the Atlanta Falcons.

Harris, 26, was elevated in Week 3 for a game against the Houston Texans and played seven offensive snaps and 17 snaps on special teams.

The Jaguars already ruled out wide receiver Zay Jones for Sunday and listed receiver and return specialist Jamal Agnew as questionable. The team also has rookies Parker Washington and Elijah Cooks on the active roster, but listed both players as inactive in each of the first three weeks of the season.

On Thursday, Jaguars special teams coordinator Heath Farwell was complimentary of Harris, although he also said the receiver was part of the reason Texans fullback Andrew Beck broke free for an 85-yard kickoff return.

“He’s done a good job as a gunner and we’re hoping to get him up more often,” Farwell said of Harris. “Unfortunately, he was on the backside on that kickoff coverage which was a little disappointing for me. But he’s a guy that cares and wants it so bad and he was one of those guys that was diving in there trying [to recover a fumble].

“He wants to make a play, it’s his first time being up in a long time, and he hadn’t played since he was with the Rams a million games ago. He’s just trying to make a play, and part of coaching is getting these guys settled down, letting the plays come, and they will come when we let them come to us.”

Harris was a fourth round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, but only caught one pass in two seasons with the team.

According to NFL rules, a player may be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster no more than three times. After that, Harris would need to be added permanently to the 53-man roster to be available for games.
