2024 NFL Draft: ‘My Guys’ in the class, from Troy Fautanu to Rasheen Ali (Big Cat County)

[Nehemiah] Pritchett is a long, lean corner that looks well suited to a role in press coverage at the next level. At 6’1” and 190lbs, perhaps you’d like a little more meat on the bone – and I would suggest his career begins as a slot corner as he acclimates to the physicality the NFL brings. But instincts, athleticism and feistiness are a hallmark of his game. If the ball is in the air, Pritchett will be at the catch point fighting tooth and nail to disrupt the pass.

Assuming no first-round trade is made, Jacksonville will have to choose between filling its biggest need (and selecting the best cornerback available) or finding plus value (whether that’s a wide receiver or a trench player).

That’s not our decision to make, but you can let us know what decision you would make in Jacksonville’s shoes thanks to our Survey Reacts question.

O-Zone: Still in (Jaguars.com)

I expect them to select a cornerback in Round 1, and I would be surprised if they trade up more than a selection or two for that player. … I also wouldn’t be surprised to see them select a second corner and a defensive lineman somewhere relatively early.

NFL Draft Four Verts: Most fun trade-up scenarios involve Vikings and Jaguars, while Broncos should trade down (Yahoo Sports)

The Jaguars have already decided that Lawrence is going to be their quarterback for the long term and have opened up negotiations with him on a deal. The supporting cast is decent, but the Jaguars don’t have a top dog who can take games over — and they have the opportunity to pair Lawrence with one. Moving into the top three or four picks to acquire Harrison seems like a tough task. The latter half of the top-10 is probably more feasible.

New intel reveals 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk draft-day trade still very much in play (San Francisco Chronicle)

Based on what I’m hearing from knowledgeable sources inside the building and from high-ranking personnel executives and coaches around the league, don’t rule out a deal that would send Brock Purdy’s favorite target to another team.

… There is a sense among other high-ranking personnel executives around the league that Aiyuk, as one such executive put it, “is available for the right price.” To this point, the 49ers have asked for a 2024 first-round pick. “They want too much,” said the executive, whose team is in the market for a receiver.
