The Jacksonville Jaguars added two more players to their Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday. Those players were quarterback C.J. Beathard and safety Jarrod Wilson.

The news comes as both players had been held out of practice for COVID-19 close contact. Beathard’s case is the most recent one as he was at practice during the Jags’ last session on Saturday. Wilson, on the other hand, began missing time on Aug. 29, but he was expected to return this week according to First Coast News’ Mia O’Brien.

With both veterans out, the Jags have younger players who will see snaps in their place. Second-year quarterback Jake Luton was the one to see snaps in Beathard’s place Monday. As for Wilson, his time off the field could prove to be more important as third-round pick Andre Cisco was expected to compete with him to start.

Being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list doesn’t mean either player has tested positive for COVID-19 but could mean they may have been in close contact with someone who has it. That said, for the time being, both players will join the list with cornerback CJ Henderson.
