Drafted in the second round this year, Walker Little has yet to appear in a regular season game for the Jaguars.

Earlier today, the Jaguars announced that the team has placed rookie second-round pick, offensive tackle Walker Little on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list.

Players who are placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list have either tested positive for the virus or have come in close contact with a person(s) that has tested positive. Depending on the player’s vaccination status, the player could miss upwards of 10 days on the list.

The Jaguars selected Little with the 45th overall selection in this year’s draft, the team’s second of two second-round picks this year. Little has yet to appear in a game for Jacksonville thus far this regular season but saw plenty of in-game action during the team’s preseason matchups earlier this summer.

For Jacksonville, Little missing time won’t necessarily affect the team as he’s been a healthy scratch through two games. The Jaguars have opted to go with more experience at the swing tackle position, activating fourth-year offensive lineman Will Richardson instead.

Earlier today, Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer stated that both Little and the team’s fourth-round rookie defensive tackle Jay Tufele were “close” to becoming players that could be active on game days. Tufele has been another of the team’s healthy scratches through two regular-season games this year.

Jacksonville is getting set to face off against the Arizona Cardinals. The team has lost both of its first two regular-season matchups, in Week 1 to the Houston Texans, and on Sunday to the Denver Broncos.

It is not yet known how much time Little will spend on the list, but he will almost certainly not play this week even if he were activated from the list in a short time.
