The Jaguars enter the first week of the regular season relatively healthy with just two players listed on the injury report.

The Jaguars are set to take on the Texans in Houston this weekend and will travel with the active roster in good shape, not expected to miss many players due to injury.

Today, the first injury report for this week was released, revealing cornerbacks Tre Herndon (knee) and Tyson Campbell (calf) as the only two players on Jacksonville’s list. On Monday, Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer stated that Herndon would not be available, while he expects Campbell to play.

Jacksonville currently has just five cornerbacks on the 53-man active roster including the aforementioned injured players. With Herndon out, Jacksonville will rely on the rookie in Campbell to play the slot CB position. Behind him will likely be second-year defensive back Chris Claybrooks.

The team’s depth at CB will be something to watch moving forward as the team cannot afford to lose more players, especially on the inside at nickel.

As for the Texans, the team lists a couple of key players that are injured, including defensive back Lonnie Johnson Jr. (thigh), defensive lineman Whitney Mercilus (thigh) and linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (thigh). Johnson was the only player that did not participate while the rest were limited.

The Texans will be without star QB Deshaun Watson, who was listed as not participating, but it is not injury-related. Watson has yet to participate in practice throughout the offseason and into the season for Houston after requesting a trade months ago, while also being the subject of multiple accusations.

Jacksonville will face off against Tyrod Taylor who was named the Texans’ starting QB last week.
