The playoff hopes are dwindling.

November hasn’t been kind to the Cincinnati Bengals this season.

On November 12th, they dropped a heartbreaker to the Houston Texans.

Four days later, they lost to the division rival Baltimore Ravens and lost franchise quarterback Joe Burrow for the season in the process.

Sunday was a chance for their luck to change, and unfortunately, it did not. The offense was only able to score 10 points on Sunday, with three of those being late in the game when it was essentially out of reach.

Three straight losses. No Burrow. Playoff hopes slipping. Bleak.

The reality is that even though things have been rough for the Bengals, the NFL will keep moving. 53 players will line up every Sunday from now until January and play a game for Cincinnati.

One of those players is Ja’Marr Chase. With Burrow out and Tee Higgins missing time, Chase becomes somewhat of a leader for the offense as their most prolific player. When asked about his mindset through the rough month, Chase seemed to be assuming that leadership role.

“Just keep going, man. At the end of the day, we gotta just keep fighting,” Chase exclaimed. “Still got an opportunity, and hopefully, we make the most of it and get our foot in that door.”

At 5-6, the Bengals are still in the playoff hunt, but in a loaded AFC, to say they face an uphill battle is an understatement. Failing to get a division win and only having one AFC win are both factors working against them.

Chase continued about how he could help his teammates moving forward.

“Just keep moving forward,” Chase said. “That’s all I can do right now. Keep the guys outside of me pushing forward, too.”

The Bengals head to Jacksonville next weekend for a Monday Night Football matchup with the Jaguars.
