The New York Jets had another game where they failed to have much success offensively in their 27-6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. After another disappointing performance from the offense, the Jets are now producing a first down or touchdown at the lowest rate in the NFL.

The woes of the offense can be attributed to a multitude of things, including the play of Zach Wilson, Nathaniel Hackett’s playcalling, and the offensive line struggling amid an endless number of injuries. Entering Week 10, the Jets are producing the third-fewest points per game (16.5) in the NFL.

Just to illustrate how bad the Jets have been on offense, even the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers are logging first downs and touchdowns at a higher rate than them. The Giants are recording a league-low 11.2 points per game and the Steelers are posting 16.6 points per game.

New York’s defense has put the team in plenty of advantageous spots and has been the primary reason why the Jets have even won four games thus far. But if the Jets want to find a way to sneak into the playoffs, the offense needs to make drastic improvements moving forward.
