The New York Jets have signed their 2021 second round draft pick, wide receiver Elijah Moore, to a four year, $8.9 million contract. The contract includes a signing bonus of $3.86 million and guaranteed money in the first three years of the deal.

The Jets were elated to find Moore available in the second round after they projected he would go in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. At the University of Mississippi Moore set the school record of 86 catches in a season last year despite playing only eight games in a schedule shortened by COVID-19. Elijah Moore enjoyed rave reviews in the Jets offseason workouts, and his impressive performances may have contributed to the Jets demanding a pay cut from slot receiver Jamison Crowder. Now Moore will seek to displace Crowder as the Jets’ primary slot receiver, while also having the versatility to line up outside at times.

The signing of Elijah Moore leaves Zach Wilson as the only Jets draft pick who remains unsigned, and one of just four remaining unsigned first round picks in the NFL.
