Asterisk included, but in impressive mark to hit nonetheless.

So long as Joe Burrow is healthy, the former No. 1 overall pick should have a big 2021 season with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Armed with an offense that includes a trio of dynamic receivers in Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd, as well as a solid pass-catching back in Joe Mixon (and maybe Chris Evans if he makes the 53-man roster), Burrow could have a season that even breaks some franchise records.

Pro Football Focus is actually projecting Burrow to break the franchise single-season passing yards record* of 4,293 yards set by Andy Dalton in 2013. Their projection has Burrow hitting 4,537 yards, though this is obviously with an extra game via the NFL’s new 17-game schedule.

4,537 yards over a 17-game season equates to about 266.9 yards per game, which over a 16-game season, would amount to about 4,270 yards, which would be 23 yards short of the record.

Still, even with the extra game, that’s a pretty big mark to hit.
