Falcons contacted Bears about QB Justin Fields, per report

The Atlanta Falcons appear to be serious about upgrading the quarterback position this offseason and all options are on the table. While speaking at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said he probably wouldn’t be in Atlanta had the team found the right quarterback in 2023.

Could the right quarterback be Chicago Bears signal-caller Justin Fields? Speculation is growing now that the Bears appear to be locked in on taking a QB with the No. 1 overall pick. NBC Sports Chicago’s Josh Schrock reported that the Falcons reached out to the Bears about Fields:

“A league source told NBC Sports Chicago that the Falcons have checked in with the Bears about Fields. It’s unclear how far those conversations went but there’s reason to expect them to pick back up this week in Indianapolis.”

Fields, a Georgia native, would make a lot of sense for both parties. The Falcons desperately need a quarterback and by trading for Fields, they could avoid putting a rookie out there in 2024. Here’s how fans on Twitter reacted to Atlanta’s reported interest in Fields.
