Bears quarterback Justin Fields set the franchise single-season rushing record for a quarterback in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Eagles.

Fields, who entered the game with 905 rushing yards, rushed for 81 yards on 11 carries, including a highlight-reel 39-yard scramble that set up a rushing touchdown by David Montgomery.

The previous record was held by Bobby Douglass, who rushed for 968 yards in 1972.

As of the first half, Fields has 986 rushing yards, and he’s just 14 yards away from eclipsing 1,000 rushing yards on the season.

Fields is 220 yards shy of tying Lamar Jackson’s single-season rushing record for a quarterback with 1,206 rushing yards set in 2019.
