Catching up with the injured Chiefs after the first practice of the week.

The Kansas City Chiefs conducted their fifth full-team practice of training camp on Monday morning. As the Kansas City Star’s Herbie Teope reported, offensive lineman Mike Remmers — held out of Saturday’s practice with back spasms — missed another day. Also missing practice was linebacker Ben Niemann, who had left Saturday’s practice with a tweaked hamstring. But Armani Watts — who has been on the Active/PUP list — was back on the field.

Also not participating (again) was linebacker Anthony Hitchens — as evidenced by Ron Kopp’s observation from the initial first-team looks.

But tight end Travis Kelce — who has missed some practice time in recent days after reporting tightness in his back and hips — was back. As Ron noted, he was on the field and participating.

A couple of players left practice after being injured. Safety Juan Thornhill spent time in the medical tent before walking back up the hill under his own power, per Teope.

Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest reported that wide receiver Chad Williams went through the same routine.

The Chiefs later said that both Thornhill and Williams had suffered groin injuries. UPDATE: The team also said that tight end Evan Baylis had suffered an ankle injury.
