Green Bay’s signings of Rasul Douglas and Quinton Dunbar are increasingly important.

The Green Bay Packers released their first injury report this week, with new injuries to tackle Dennis Kelly (back), safety Vernon Scott (knee), and tight end Robert Tonyan (knee.) Kelly missed the last game with an illness while Scott was tabbed as a healthy scratch.

The good news is that center Josh Myers (finger) was a full participant and left tackle Elgton Jenkins (ankle) is trending upward for Green Bay’s Week 6 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Earlier today, head coach Matt LaFleur stated, “We’d love to see them there on Sunday. We’re going to need them,” in regards to the offensive line duo.

Outside of Kelly, the only other Packer who did not participate at all in practice on Wednesday was cornerback Kevin King, who would start opposite of rookie Eric Stokes if healthy. King’s shoulder injury is a question mark this week but should be alleviated by 2021 transactions: Isaac Yiadom, Rasul Douglas, and Quinton Dunbar.

Yiadom was traded for in the preseason from the New York Giants, while Rasul Douglas was signed off of Arizona’s practice squad last week. Douglas was not on the game-day roster for the Packers last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. Dunbar, who has played in 64 NFL regular-season games, was just officially announced as a practice squad signing but could be called up relatively quickly to provide depth at outside cornerback if he can quickly learn the playbook. At this point in time, it is likely that Yiadom would start opposite of Stokes if King can’t suit up against the Bears.

It should also be noted that tight end Dominique Dafney started his 21-day clock to return to the 53-man roster from the injured reserve list today by practicing with the team.

Meanwhile in Chicago, the Bears’ two best line of scrimmage defenders, defensive end Akiem Hicks (groin) and outside linebacker Khalil Mack (foot), did not participate in practice. Hicks has not played since he was injured on the first defensive play of Chicago’s Detroit game two Sundays ago, but Mack has been playing through a foot injury for multiple weeks.
