There is finally some news on the KJ Wright front.

On Wednesday KJ appeared on the Sirius XM Blitz on NFL Radio show with Bill Lekas and Kirk Morrison, where he was pressed by Lekas on whether or not he thinks he could return to the Seattle Seahawks in 2021.

The direct quote from KJ is, “Yes, there is a chance (that I return to Seattle), there is a chance and I’m not closing the door on Seattle. Going into free agency I thought it’d be a no brainer (that I return), but they’re going to wait until training camp, so we’ll see.”

Well, that’s certainly interesting, and it is much more than anything we’ve heard all offseason. Not only has this situation not deterred KJ away from the Seahawks but he also dropped the news that if he is to return, according to what the Seahawks have told him it will not be until training camp. It was not clarified what the reasoning is behind waiting until training camp, but it most likely means that Seattle wants to see what they have in their linebacker group when camp does start next week.

For what it’s worth, this does mirror what Pete Carroll said about the door being open for Wright to re-sign with the team. Normally that doesn’t lead to an actual signing but maybe, just maybe, this time is different.
