The Houston Texans aren’t messing around in 2024, and players inside the locker room can rejoice knowing that brighter days are ahead.

Even after adding Pro Bowl defensive end Danielle Hunter, Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon, defensive lineman Denico Autry, and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaiir, Nick Caserio wasn’t done cooking. The fourth-year general manager finalized the promising offseason by trading for Buffalo Bills All-Pro receiver Stefon Diggs Wednesday morning in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick.

The Texans’ offense is humming entering 2024. Headlined by Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud, Diggs should be on the receiving end of a multitude of red zone scores as Houston looks to remain the front-runners in the AFC South.

Diggs, who finished with over 1,100 receiving yards each season in Orchard Park, won’t be alone in the passing attack. Nico Collins broke out in Year 3, becoming the third Texans receiver in franchise history to total 1,200 yards in a season. Rookie Tank Dell was on pace for a 1,000-yard campaign before a fractured fibula sidelined him for the remainder of the season in early December.

Houston also brought back tight end Dalton Schultz on a three-year deal worth $36 million. The Texans, who were in the market for a running back this offseason, traded a seventh-round pick to the Cincinnati Bengals for Mixon and quickly inked him to a three-year, $27 million extension, including $13 million guaranteed.

Fans were pumped to see Diggs’ name attached to the roster, but players also took to Twitter to emphasize their feelings about the move, including All-Pro tackle Laremy Tunsil, Mixon, backup quarterback and former Bills teammate Case Keenum and three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt
