Could the Raiders have signed Brady?

Recently, a video surfaced of Tom Brady from a discussion on HBO’s “The Shop: Uninterrupted”. In the clip, Brady talked about being upset last offseason when a mystery team pursuing him in free agency dropped out of the race.

“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘you’re sticking with that motherf—–?’

There were a lot of people speculating that it could he could have been talking about his former New England Patriots teammate, Jimmy Garoppolo. However, there are some rumblings that he may have been talking about the Raiders. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio made the case as to why.

“Multiple people with deep connections to the NFL’s matrix have reached out in the past 24 hours to express a belief that the unnamed team was the Raiders,” Florio said.

This wouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Raiders were attached to Brady during his process of picking a new team. The team still has Derek Carr as their QB, but could they have had a chance to sign Brady?

Here was another comment from what Brady said, per the article from Florio.

“They said they didn’t want me. I know what that means, I know what that feels like. And I’m gonna go f— you up because of that,”

Well, if he was talking about the Raiders, he certainly did just that. When he faced them in week seven last season, he threw for 369 passing yards and four touchdowns.
