The Baltimore Ravens have dealt with a massive amount of injuries so far during their 2021 training camp. However, none have been as scary as the situation surrounding Mark Andrews during Thursday’s joint practice with the Carolina Panthers.

Andrews began to deal with serious cramps, and an ambulance was brought over to where the tight end was.

Luckily, Andrews didn’t go to the hospital and returned with the team to their hotel. The tight end has Type-1 diabetes, so it was a scary sequence to have him be in a great deal of pain with an ambulance needing to be called. It was a very hot and humid day on Thursday in South Carolina, which is where the Ravens currently are during their joint practices. Head coach John Harbaugh commented on Andrews’ status after practice.

Guard Kevin Zeitler also spoke about Andrews and his injury scare, saying that he trusts the doctors to “get him right”.

“It’s always unfortunate. Camp – it’s a hard time, and down here in South Carolina, it’s hot as heck. But it does show one thing: he worked his ass off down here. He wasn’t worried about it, and I trust the doctors and everyone to get him right.”

If everything checks out with Andrews, he could end up playing for a series or two against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday. However, it wouldn’t be shocking for the Ravens to take the cautious approach and rest him just incase. It’s a relief to know that nothing serious happened, and hopefully he can return to the field as soon as possible.
