Hollywood misses another practice

Today was the third-straight practice which did not feature wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. According to Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh, Hollywood’s absence is due to the injury severity larger than originally anticipated.

“Marquise still has his issue with his hamstring,” Harbaugh said. “It turned out to be worse than they told him it was going to be. So he’s out until he’s back with a hamstring [injury].”

When Harbaugh was asked about the injury on July 29, Harbaugh believed it to be mild.

“Not serious,” Harbaugh said. “Probably more precautionary than anything in terms of just making sure the muscle health continues to be there early in camp to just build him up to the reps we want to get him to. So I’d say it is precautionary in nature.”

This is Brown’s first “real” training camp with the Ravens as his rookie year he was sidelined with injury and last year training camp was virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In other Ravens wide receiver injury news, rookie pass catcher Rashod Bateman missed today’s practice after suffering an injury during Saturday’s stadium practice. Bateman said during the presser he would be back on Monday but the Ravens kept him sidelined. Harbaugh said it’s just tightness in his muscles.

“Bateman had some muscle tightness,” Harbaugh said. “Hopefully it’s not anything serious. Hopefully it’s training camp tightness but we’ll see how that works out.”

Miles Boykin also suffered a lower body injury during today’s practice and exited 30 minutes before practice ended.

“Yeah, it looks like something with his hamstring,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll have to see how that goes.”
