The Jets and Giants will play in front of fans this offseason, but MetLife Stadium changed a few of its policies to ensure the safety of those who attend and work on game days.

The stadium already announced it will open at 100 percent capacity, as allowed by the state of New Jersey, and there will be no social distancing or mask requirements. Fans won’t be required to show a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to enter the stadium.

However, there are some new safety measures taking effect, including:

  • Mobile ticketing upon entry and cash-free transactions at all concession and retail locations inside the stadium.
  • Empty reusable plastic or aluminum water bottles will be allowed and can be filled up at water fountains in the stadium.
  • Outside food is allowed in the stadium as long as it’s stored in a clear plastic bag.
  • Attendants will be clean and disinfect every restroom and more than 450 hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the stadium.
  • Electrostatic sprayers and hospital-grade cleaning supplies will be used during frequent cleaning and disinfecting.
  • HVAC filtration systems have been upgraded to MERV-13 or MERV-15 air filters for all interior spaces.
  • Tailgating will be allowed in all MetLife Stadium parking lots unless otherwise designated.

The Jets will face the Giants in the preseason on Aug. 14 in both team’s first game with fans at MetLife Stadium since 2019.
