We were waiting with baited breath to see how Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel would respond to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady roasting him — but, alas, we were left disappointed in the end.

Brady viciously roasted his former New England Patriots teammate and good buddy during an episode of “In The Current,” which is chronicling the Bucs’ 2021 season and covered the joint practices between Tennessee and Tampa Bay last month.

In it, Brady says Vrabel is “kind of an (expletive) if you get to know him,” and also called the Titans head coach “fat and out of shape.”

“Mike’s kind of an (expletive) if you get to know him. He went to Ohio State; obviously I don’t like him,” Brady said. “There’s a healthy competition between us always, even though he’s fat and out of shape now. Physically, he’s really declined to a pretty sad state.”

Because friendly jabs between the two friends are normal, we expected Vrabel to fire back in some form or fashion after that, but he decided not to during a presser with the media on Monday.

“That’s old news,” Vrabel said with a smile. “We’re in game mode now.”

The friends took turns taking digs at one another during the aforementioned joint sessions.

Brady compared Vrabel to a “typical diva receiver” and noted that Vrabel isn’t as talkative as he once was, saying the former linebacker has mellowed out as a coach.

Vrabel responded by posting a picture of himself, Brady, and Brady’s son, Jack, with the caption, “Jack Brady talking with his favorite former Patriot. Also pictured, Tom Brady.”

Vrabel also took a shot at Brady when he huddled up with Bucs players: “I know you guys are moving forward, but it’s good to see another defense carry Brady to another Super Bowl.”

Perhaps Vrabel has something else up his sleeve to counter this latest burn from Brady, but for now he’s taking the high road.
