No Anthony Barr for the Vikings. . .again

Both the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals are well into their preparations for this Sunday’s Week 2 matchup in the desert. We have the initial injury reports for both clubs, so let’s take a look at some of the bumps and bruises.

As always, we start with the visiting team.

Minnesota Vikings

Did Not Participate

  • LB Anthony Barr (knee)
  • CB Harrison Hand (hamstring)

Limited Participation

  • OT Christian Darrisaw (groin)
  • LB Nick Vigil (ankle)

At this point, I think I’d be more surprised if Anthony Barr did practice rather than seeing that he’s out again. I’m not sure how much we can expect from him going forward, which is frustrating. Hand had a great game on special teams so hopefully his setback is a minor one. Vigil had an outstanding game against the Bengals on Sunday as well in Barr’s place.

And now, on to the home team.

Arizona Cardinals

Did Not Participate

  • OL Kelvin Beachum (ribs)
  • WR A.J. Green (veteran rest day)
  • WR DeAndre Hopkins (veteran rest day)
  • OL Rodney Hudson (veteran rest day)
  • LB Devon Kennard (hamstring)
  • S Charles Washington (thigh)

With a few veteran rest days sprinkled in, the Cardinals don’t look to have any really serious injury problems as things stand right now. Obviously we’ll be monitoring the reports throughout the week to see if anything changes.

Those are your initial injury reports for the Vikings and Cardinals, folks. With any luck we’ll see Hand and Vigil (at the very least) upgraded slightly when the next reports come out on Thursday afternoon.
