Weekend Open Thread

Good Morning!

It’s the next to last weekend before training camp, the long wait is almost over. Thank you to everyone who read my mailbag post, took the time to ask a question and write a comment. My personal apologies to Dalvin Tomlinson as I really thought I typed his name as making the defensive line.

Meanwhile, we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s the weekend, time to fire up the smoker and start chilling the beer, or go to work.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

The Daily Norseman Mailbag, July 16th, 2021; the last mailbag before training camp.

Talking Bears/Vikings with Bears Talk Underground featuring Christopher.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com: 3 Key Vikings Training Camp Questions: Progressions for O’Neill & Bradbury; Rookie OL Outlook.

Lunchbreak: Dalvin Cook Lands in Top 3 of ESPN’s Top 10 RBs for 2021.

League News:

Pro Football Focus names which defensive players they believe could have a breakout season in 2021.

Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy: ‘There’s nothing new to update’ regarding Aaron Rodgers.

Matt Nagy faces make-or-break season in Chicago; five NFL players with Shohei Ohtani potential.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip the cows and Welcome Aboard!
