Hump Day Open Thread

Good Morning!

Well, I was wrong. Danielle Hunter did show up for mini-camp yesterday (although the Vikings did throw some guaranteed money his way). Wasn’t the first time I was wrong about something Vikings related, won’t be the last. The amount the Vikings guaranteed wasn’t significant but it allows the team and Hunter to reassess after this year to see if he fits into the Vikings long term plans…I’m going out on a limb here and will say “yes he does.”

Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Wednesday, halfway to the weekend.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Vikings Are ‘All In’ on 2021. The Vikings front office has navigated this off-season pretty well- and looks to have put together one of the more talented rosters in team history.

Chris notes: The Vikings come to terms with Sheldon Richardson.

The Daily Norseman Mailbag; Mini-Camp Mailbag by me duh.

WR Adam Thielen addressed the media from the TCO Performance Center on Tuesday: The Front Office Did A Great Job Making This Team Better … Now The Players Have To Do Our Job.

3 Observations: Hunter, Richardson in Attendance; Jefferson Finds End Zone.

League News:

State of the 2021 Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers dilemma has franchise at a crossroads.

Tua Tagovailoa on 5-INT minicamp practice: Emphasis was ‘to be aggressive, push the ball downfield’

Half of NFL teams have 51 or more players vaccinated for COVID-19.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip the cows and Welcome Aboard!
