Also, Zach Tom and the Packers’ draft approach creates a bit of a chicken-and-the-egg question.

If you follow any of the Green Bay Packers’ players on social media, expect today to be a busy one on your news feeds. The Packers are starting to welcome players back into the building today for the start of the offseason conditioning program, meaning that we should see plenty of posts of players arriving back in town.

But as the players’ offseason gets underway, preparations for the 2024 NFL Draft are in the final stages. The Packers have probably hosted most if not all of their 30 official player visits, and the next ten days should consist of making final adjustments to the team’s draft board.

One of the more intriguing storylines about this year’s draft is on the offensive line, where the Packers could be interested in players at any position. The versatility of a player like Zach Tom — who the team apparently sees as having Hall of Fame upside at center — means that there’s flexibility in the team’s approach to building out the line this year.

Of course, the Packers already have a veteran center in Josh Myers, but if the team goes with its best five approach, Tom could end up practically anywhere on the line depending on if the team drafts a lineman early. And given this year’s strong class of tackles (and potential tackle-to-guard converts), the odds of Green Bay landing a quality player at 25 or even in the second round feels pretty good.

Thankfully, we’ve only got a few more days to wait until we find out.

Despite departures, Packers feel O-line ‘in a good space’ for coming season | Packers.com
The Packers’ starting five might be on the roster right now, but it might not. At the very least, look for the team to add depth all across the line in next week’s draft.

The other possibility is that the way the draft falls will dictate Zach Tom’s long-term positional future. If Green Bay doesn’t land a tackle that they like but they find quality interior linemen, Tom could stay at tackle as the team looks to the youngsters at center and guard.

The high schooler was caught because he put his own cell phone number on the fax’s cover page. I’m just impressed that someone of that generation figured out how to use a fax machine at all!
