Morgan finds a new home in the AFC

Update: Contract details

The Washington Football Team moved on from their long time Right Tackle Morgan Moses a month ago. They also released Geron Christian Sr. who waa their Week 1 starting LT last season.. These moves signaled a new direction for the offensive line, and an influx of new players the team had high hopes for. Moses has been the team’s starting RT for 96 straight games.

Washington found a player they liked in free agency when they signed former Chicago Bears tackle Cornelius Lucas. He went on to start 8 games at LT after Christian was injured. They also drafted Saadhiq Charles in the 4th round and have been training him at both guard and tackle. His rookie year was injury-filled and ended with a knee injury in his only appearance in a game.

Washington continued to bring in tackles this year, drafting Sam Cosmi in the 2nd round. They also signed another former Chicago Bears tackle when Charles Leno Jr. became available last month. These moves made Morgan Moses expendable. Most people expected Geron Christian to be released this year, but Moses wasn’t on everyone’s radar for this year.

Morgan Moses has been testing free agency for the last month, taking several visits. The one team that he was linked with the most was the New York Jets. He is now reportedly signing with them on a 1-year deal. Contract details haven’t been released, but it’s not likely going to touch the money from the contract he was released from her(2 years, $15 million remaining). Moses now gets a chance to protect rookie QB Zach Wilson, and look for a big deal next year.
