Patriots to host Giants for joint practices prior to preseason finale at MetLife Stadium

Both sides will go from Foxborough to East Rutherford at the end of August.

The New England Patriots will cross paths with the New York Giants leading up to their 2021 preseason finale at MetLife Stadium.

Both sides have finalized joint practices, with the first of which set for Wednesday, Aug. 25 in Foxborough, according to the NFL’s training camp press release.

Bill Belichick’s Patriots will then go from host to visitor and head to East Rutherford to face Joe Judge’s Giants in the last of the summer’s three-game exhibition schedule.

Kickoff between the familiar coaching staffs and rosters is slated for Sunday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. ET.

“There’s some things that aren’t finalized completely for training camp,” Judge said of potential joint practices in New England during a June conference call, “but the thought process behind that is it’s an opportunity to get our team on the road for training camp, stay together. But also with the change in the preseason schedule, both organizations thought it’d be a good idea to be able to exchange a little bit year by year.”

A total of 21 clubs around the league have joint-practice agreements on the calendar. The Patriots, who open the preseason against the Washington Football Team, previously announced a pair of workouts with the Philadelphia Eagles in advance of their matchup at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, Aug. 19.

New England’s initial practice of training camp arrives next week.
