Jamison Crowder and the Jets are in agreement.

The slot receiver and the team have finalized a renegotiated contract a day before the start of mandatory minicamp, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The reworked deal will keep Crowder in Jets green this season before he becomes a free agent again at 28 years old.

Crowder did not attend offseason workouts while he and the Jets reworked his deal. Rapoport did not specify details, but ESPN’s Rich Cimini recently reported that the Jets were asking Crowder to take as much as a 50% pay cut. Crowder was on the books for a $10 million, non-guaranteed salary in the final year of his contract.

Reworking Crowder’s deal will give the Jets extra money to play with. Crowder, meanwhile, doesn’t have to worry about being expendable in a crowded wide receiver room. The Jets have plenty of capable slot receivers in rookie Elijah Moore, free agent signing Keelan Cole and OTA standout Braxton Berrios, but Crowder will strengthen that group while also competing with Corey Davis and Denzel Mims for targets.

Robert Saleh recently said Crowder “definitely has a role on this team.” With the receiver’s new deal in place, that’s no longer in doubt.
