Robert Saleh, Mike LaFleur and Jeff Ulbrich won’t be the only members of the Jets organization reuniting with former colleagues this August.

New York announced Tuesday that it is teaming up with the Eagles to hold joint practices from Aug. 24-25 before the two teams meet at MetLife Stadium in the final week of the preseason on Aug. 27. Joe Douglas will be greeted by many familiar faces when Philadelphia rolls into town, as he worked for the Eagles from 2016-19 before joining the Jets as their general manager.

Douglas’ successful stint with the Eagles is essentially what propelled him to the head of New York’s front office. Douglas played a major part in building a Philadelphia roster that defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl LII and further improved upon his reputation as a top-notch talent evaluator during his time with the organization.

While Douglas will encounter many of the people he worked alongside in Philadelphia during the team’s brief stay in Florham Park, he will also see a vastly different team on the practice field. Doug Pederson is no longer the Eagles’ head coach and Carson Wentz now calls Indianapolis home. Other than veterans like Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham, most of the stars that led Philadelphia to a Super Bowl while Douglas was with the organization are long gone.

New York’s joint practices and preseason matchup with the Eagles are its final chance to tune up before the beginning of the regular season. Most of the Jets’ regulars will not partake in the team’s preseason finale, but Gang Green’s matchup with Philadelphia could be the determining factor for some players when it comes to their chances of making the 53-man roster.
