Jets training camp 90-man roster preview: Linebackers

A new defensive scheme means a change in philosophy for the Jets’ linebackers, as New York is transitioning from a 3-4 scheme to a 4-3 setup under Robert Saleh and Jeff Ulbrich.

Fortunately for Saleh and Ulbrich, the Jets have enough quality personnel at the position to handle the change relatively smoothly. C.J. Mosley is back after almost two entire years on the sideline to reassume his leadership role in New York’s linebacker room, while Jarrad Davis gives the Jets a fresh, talented face.

There is also the impending weak-side linebacker position battle between three young Jets. That will go a long way in determining the success of New York’s defense in 2021.
