Houston Texans’ Tank Dell shot outside night club – Battle Red Blog
Receiver expected to make a full recovery.

Second year Houston Texans speedster Tank Dell was allegedly in the wrong place at the wrong time last night as gunfire erupted outside a Sanford, FL night club. Dell, a Florida native, was simply caught up in yet another of our nation’s mass shootings that have hallmarked the 21st century.
Dell, one of 10 people reportedly shot outside the club, was not seriously injured and has been released from the hospital already.

Houston Texans Post-Draft 53-Man Roster Projection – Battle Red Blog
A first attempt to predict the final roster for the start of next season.

Fresh off the 2024 NFL Draft, it’s time to take a first swing at the first projection of the 53-man roster. For the loyal readers, this isn’t the start of my yearly Rosterology articles per se, but merely a peak into the position groups and who’s in line to make the team.

Report: Colts exercise DE Kwity Paye’s fifth-year option – Stampede Blue
Indianapolis has exercised Kwity Paye’s fifth-year option.

In exercising Paye’s fifth-year option, the former first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft is set to make a total of $13.4 million, with $4.3 million of that coming in 2024, according to The Athletic’s James Boyd.

Three Colts’ rookies among ESPN Matt Miller’s ‘Top 100 Picks’ of 2024 NFL Draft – Stampede Blue
One ESPN analyst really liked three of the Colts draft picks, who are hoping they’ve found three long-term impact starters.

If the Colts will have had it their way, the Horseshoe will have ended up with at least three long-term impact starters—and it’s possible that each could make an early impact even as rookies, with some having more of an initial opportunity for playing time than others.

NFL.com rates the Colts as having the worst draft amongst the AFC South – Stampede Blue
The site has the Colts losing ground in the AFC South after the draft.

After fourteen straight selections on the offensive side of the ball, the Indianapolis Colts chose the top rated defender on their board, making Laiatu Latu out of UCLA the fifteenth overall pick. Even with that great stroke of luck, NFL.com doesn’t feel the Colts nailed the draft, assigning them the worst grade in the AFC South.

Tennessee Titans (via Music City Miracles)

2024 NFL Draft: Which Tennessee Titans rookies have the best chance to make immediate impact? – Music City Miracles
The Titans drafted several players throughout the 2024 NFL Draft who possess a chance to make an immediate impact

The easy answer is obviously offensive tackle JC Latham, the team’s first-round pick. Carthon and Callahan didn’t play games with the media when discussing Latham’s fit. There was no “We’ll get him into camp” or “we’ll see how he responds” coach-speak answers we often heard throughout the Jon Robinson and Mike Vrabel era.

Report: Titans decline fifth-year option on Caleb Farley – Music City Miracles
SHOCKER!

No surprise here. The Farley experiment has been a huge bust. Who could have seen a player who had multiple back surgeries in college having trouble staying healthy in the NFL? Oh, everyone you say? Well, apparently everyone with the exception of Jon Robinson.

Report: Titans to host WR Tyler Boyd on free-agent visit – Music City Miracles
The Titans are slated to host a veteran receiver on a free-agent visit

Boyd spent the previous five seasons (2019-23) playing in Brian Callahan’s offense with the Cincinnati Bengals. Boyd accumulated 361 receptions for 4.144 yards and 21 touchdowns across those five seasons. In Boyd’s first season playing under Callahan, he recorded a single-season career-high 1,046 yards. It was Boyd’s second consecutive 1,000 yard showing. There’s obviously a lot of familiarity between Boyd and Callahan.
