More and more often, mock drafts are sending wide receivers to Kansas City.

This past week, NFL.com draft analyst Dan Parr published his second (and final) mock draft of the 2024 offseason. It is the 100th mock draft we’ve covered on Arrowhead Pride this year.

Parr’s final mock predicts three first-round trades — and five quarterbacks taken in the first 13 selections. He thinks the Minnesota Vikings will trade into fifth spot to select Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy and the Las Vegas Raiders will take Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with their 13th pick. By the time the Kansas City Chiefs are ready to end the first round with the 32nd pick, five wide receivers and seven offensive tackles have been selected.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas

Getting Hollywood Brown was nice, but the Chiefs can’t be done adding pieces for Patrick Mahomes at receiver after the issues they had at the position last season, right? Andy Reid might be the perfect coach to maximize Mitchell’s WR1 potential.

In his 1.0 mock from mid-February, Parr predicted Kansas City would take North Carolina wideout Devontez Walker, who has ended up among the players mocked to the Chiefs least frequently. This time, Parr chooses a wideout among this season’s most-selected players. Perhaps more importantly, Mitchell has been mocked to Kansas City more often than any other player since April 1, when the news about Chiefs’ wideout Rasheee Rice pushed his position back to the top of the team’s perceived needs.
